The Mil - Mi-17-1V


Mi-17-1V, Mi-17V-5 and Mi-17V-7 are variants based on the model Mi-17 and built at the Kazan aviation factory.

Mi-17-1V Variant: is The civil passenger/cargo variant equipped with 2x TV3-117VMA series .02 engines and clamshell doors. This variant is available as a Mi-171 from Ulan Ude.

Mi-17V-5 Variant:
The standard cargo variant equipped with a cargo ramp for the loading and unloading of cargo, troops, or passengers for emergency evacuation. This helicopter has been highly successful for the civil support operations in Afghanistan and is widely used in Africa by the UN. This variant is also available from Ulan Ude as a Mi-171 equipped with a ramp.

Mi-17V-7 Variant:
The civil passenger/cargo variant equipped with clamshell doors and 2x VK-2500 engines for optimum horsepower. A similar variant equipped with the VK-2500 engines will be available as a Mi-171M from Ulan Ude and certified for export.

Mi-171 Search and Rescue Variant:
Two external hoists 150 kg and 270 kg or 300kg for rescue baskets, 12 stretchers, NVG, FLIR, PA system, pneumatic emergency floats, Doppler weather radar, additional navigation, infrared search camera system and evacuation capability of up to 37 persons. A Search & Rescue variant is fitted with a hoist, universal lifting seat or a rescue cradle, cargoes or causalities can be taken aboard of the helicopter. Up to 12 stretchers for injured people can be installed inside the cargo cabin.

Flight and climbing with one failed and one working engine, all the main hydraulic systems are duplicated, deicing, fire protection, emergency locator, high passenger cabin ceiling 1.8m, absorption pilot seats, two flame proof GT40PCH8V generators, engine starting without ground APU unit.

Fuselage Construction: Increased strength aluminum alloy metal fuselage with highly effective corrosion resistant coating.
Landing Gear / Main Rotar / Power Plant / Accomodation / Instrumentation Three point fixed absorptive wheel HD landing gear five interchangeable blades with titanium edge tips and vibration damper TV3 -117VM 2200hp or VK 2500 2700hp with FADEC system. Up to 37 passengers (in military or emergency version) and 26 in passenger version. Standard Russian avionics and instrumentation with BAE Systems North America engine parameters display, full western avionics with IRF, ATC, VFR, VOR, ILS, GPS, Doppler radar, available as an option.
Optional Equipment: Rescue hoist, cargo ramp, dolphin nose, sling load, heating, AC, pneumatic floats, and additional fuel tanks.
